Share In A Grand National Runner?
I was doing some research on the potential Grand National runner Beshabar when I realised that shares in this horse are still available! I came across the Middleham Park Racing website whilst looking for the horses recent form. I navigated to Beshabar page and low and behold the option to purchase a 5% share in him is right there.
I was amazed that shares in this exciting chaser hadn’t been snapped up ages ago. When you consider that shortly after being purchased by Middleham Park Beshabar scored a fantastic victory in the Scottish Grand National. So for the sum £6000 and a monthly fee you could be watching him at Aintree in April’s Grand National! Not to mention a likely crack at the Hennessy Gold Cup before the trip to Liverpool too.
The bookmakers currently have Beshabar as a 25/1 shot for the National and looking at his credentials you’d have to say he seems like good value bet. If you do fancy backing him in the antepost market then consider doing it with BetVictor, they have a moneyback special on ante post Grand National runners. IF for any reason he doesn’t make it to Aintree you’ll get your stake back as a free bet – other bookies don’t normally refund stakes on non-runners in the ante post markets.
It’s going to be interesting on Tuesday when the weights for the 2013 are released during the annual lunch held at the Savoy Hotel (London). All eyes will be on the weights handed to pre-race favourite Prince De Beauchene and On His Own. However, I will be keeping one eye on weight the handicapper gives Bashabar. I hope he gets a favourable amount from Phil Smith, the British Horseracing Authority’s Head of Handicapping.
Once the weights are known trainers will either confirm or withdraw, various stages of confirmation will take place until the field is narrowed down from the current 84 runners to around 40. The 84 entries are made up of 32 Irish-trained , 1 French-trained and the rest from the United Kingdom.
