The latest name to feature on our radar is She’s Delighted, a good-looking, well-balanced five-year-old mare now in training with Fergal O’Brien. She was picked up at this year’s Goffs UK Spring Sale by Highflyer Bloodstock — the same sale that gave us John Barbour, a multiple winner who’s gone on to make quite the impression.

Trained previously by Paddy Turley, She’s Delighted brings with her a promising record from Irish point-to-points and is now preparing for life under Rules. If you’re looking for a horse to follow — or even get involved with — this is one to watch. She’s Delighted is now part of the Old Gold Racing club and shares are currently available.

Early Form: 2-1-1

She’s Delighted made a strong start to her career in point-to-points, with her form reading 2-1-1. Her first victory came at Portrush in March 2025 on yielding ground, when she beat a useful type who has since gone on to win. Her former trainer has previous at the venue too — King Of Kingsfield, also by Vadamos, won there before going on to place at Group 1 level.

In May, she made her debut in winners’ company at Bartlemy and justified favouritism in style. Held up mid-division under a patient ride, she moved through the field to take the lead at the last and pulled clear comfortably by two lengths. It was the kind of performance that suggests she’s improving with experience and has a good attitude to racing.

Importantly, she’s shown versatility — having run on everything from soft to good ground — but appears best when she can make use of her natural cruising speed.

Pedigree Notes

She’s Delighted is by Vadamos, a Group 1 winner in France with a Timeform rating of 126 and over £600,000 in prize money to his name. Now at stud, he’s producing winners under both codes — from Flat performers like Spycatcher and La Crique to promising jumpers such as King Of Kingsfield, The Other Mozzie (Grade 3), and Madrilene (Grade 3).

On the dam side, Deckers Delight was a winner over hurdles and placed several times. She comes from a solid National Hunt family — her close relative Mise En Place was a multiple winner and Black Type mare who later produced several successful offspring. She’s Delighted is the second foal out of the mare and a half-sister to Fair Catch, who has placed in point-to-points.

In Training With Fergal O’Brien

Now based at Ravenswell Farm, She’s Delighted is in experienced hands. Fergal O’Brien has developed a reputation for bringing the best out of mares, and his yard continues to go from strength to strength. With over a decade of success as a trainer and a century of winners in a season now the standard, his set-up is one of the most consistent in the country.

Fergal has been quick to speak positively about She’s Delighted, describing her as “a lovely individual,” adding:

“She’s straightforward… she’s hardy and she’ll stand racing well.”

He also noted that she’s going through the full training system at home and is pleased to have her in the yard.

A Horse You Can Follow — Or Join

She’s Delighted is currently enjoying a summer break at grass and will return to training next month in preparation for her first appearance under Rules. With her solid point-to-point background, a proven winning attitude, and a trainer who knows how to place his horses, she looks a ready-made syndicate performer.

If you’re interested in being more than just a spectator, shares in She’s Delighted are available now via Old Gold Racing. It’s a chance to be part of her journey from her first start under Rules onwards — and all the updates, behind-the-scenes access and raceday buzz that comes with it.

For our part, we’ll be watching closely and cheering her on when she makes her Rules debut.
