Hambleton Racing currently has two new Flat prospects available, with just one one-twelfth share remaining in each horse at the time of writing.

The first is a Minzaal filly who will be trained by Tom Clover in Newmarket. The second is a Persian King colt who has joined Archie Watson’s Lambourn stable.

Both were bought from breeze-up sales after catching the attention of Hambleton’s buying team through a mix of strong timing data, good movement and quality pedigrees.

While both horses are two-year-olds, they have quite different profiles. The Minzaal filly showed plenty of speed and finished her breeze strongly, while the Persian King colt produced a smooth effort that suggested he could improve as his races increase in distance.

Minzaal Filly with Tom Clover

The Minzaal filly produced a very pleasing breeze at the sales and left a strong impression on both Tom Clover and Hambleton’s buying team.

She finished 40th overall in the 236-horse breeze-up test. Her dam was at her best over ten furlongs, so the fact this filly was able to compete so well against sharper and more forward sprint types was encouraging.

Her overall placing was only part of the story. She finished her work strongly, recording the eighth-quickest closing section among more than 100 fillies. She was also only 0.25 seconds behind the most expensive filly at the sale, who was bought for €360,000.

The way she achieved her time appears to have been as important as the number itself. She showed a good attitude, worked willingly and continued strongly through the closing part of her breeze rather than losing speed near the end.

Tom Clover describes her as an athletic and attractive filly who still has physical improvement to come. That leaves room for her to strengthen as she settles into training and begins preparing for her first race.

Persian King Colt with Archie Watson

The second available horse is a Persian King colt bought from the Arqana breeze-up sale in France.

He caught the attention of Archie Watson and the buying team with his large stride, strong physical build and smooth breeze. Rather than being asked to post one very fast early section, he improved through his work and recorded a time below the sale median in each segment.

He finished within the top third of the sale overall and produced one of the longest strides recorded. This was a notable effort for a March foal bred to be at his best over a mile or further, especially when competing against horses with more speed-based pedigrees.

Hambleton’s team uses timing information adjusted for factors such as wind and track position. That analysis is then considered alongside the views of the trainer and bloodstock team, rather than relying on the final breeze time alone.

It is an approach that has already worked well with Archie Watson. Previous Hambleton breeze-up horses trained by Archie include Chriszoff, Dyrholaey, Maystar, Mehmento and Port Light, all of whom became multiple winners.

Ownership with Hambleton Racing

Hambleton Racing has been running syndicates for more than two decades and is a founder member of the Racehorse Syndicates Association. Its syndicates are capped at a maximum of 12 equal owners, meaning each member holds the same one-twelfth share in a specific horse.

The Minzaal filly will be trained by Tom Clover, while the Persian King colt will be trained by Archie Watson. Both trainers are part of Hambleton’s current panel of established Flat yards. Owners receive regular news about their horse, along with stable visits, race-day access and invitations to complimentary owner events.

Hambleton’s model involves an upfront payment to buy the share, followed by monthly payments towards training and racing costs. With only one share remaining in each of these two-year-olds, both syndicates are close to being complete.

Please note that share availability, prices, monthly payments and ownership terms may change. Contact Hambleton Racing directly for the latest pricing information, the full syndicate agreement and all terms and conditions before purchasing a share.
