I purchased my share in Whiskey Chaser (Frodo) from Deva Racing in 2012, becoming an owner of a racehorse for the first-time, or more precisely, I own 1/12th of the horse. I like to think the right back hoof belongs to me!
The syndicate consists of myself and 11 others, I’ve already met some of the other members during an owners day at Bangor-On-Dee racecourse. They’re a great bunch and we had a good time chatting about Frodo and our hopes for his racing career.
I initially became interested in Frodo because he looks every inch a future steeplechaser. A big horse who moves surprisingly well for his size, lets hope he lives up to his impressive pedigree. Frodo is a son of Flemensfirth and is closely related to Grand National winner Amberleigh House. Flemensfirth is a ‘Top National Hunt Sire’ and has produced a Gold Cup winner in Imperial Commander and some other notable horses like Time For Rupert, Joe Lively and Tidal Bay.
Frodo recently enjoyed his first win! (Carlisle) hopefully more success will follow. You can follow his progress on the blog and I’ll be updating his photo page from time to time.
