Fighting Chance For Boxing Day Entry

Whiskey Chaser (Frodo) has been declared for the ’15:40 Collect totepool Winnings At Betfred Shops Intermediate Open NH Flat Race’ at Towcester on Boxing day.

After being entered and subsequently withdrawn from a number of races throughout December Frodo will hopefully get a second race under his belt over the festive period. Unfortunately, family commitments mean I’ll be unable to make the journey to the racecourse but I willtune in to watch him from the comfort of the sofa. If the weather reports are accurate it may well be the best place to view the action.

The field looks fairly strong with entries from Venetia Williams and Alan King contesting the two mile bumper. Grand National winning jockey Liam Treadwell is booked to ride Mistariva for Williams, so Frodo will have his work cut out to improve on his fourth place at Uttoxeter in March.

The big question everyone is asking me: Does he have a chance? well, to be honest I have no idea! and I’m not really looking at the race in those terms. I hope he runs, enjoys it and learns from the experience.

Boxing day is crammed full of quality racing up and down the country. But for one racing fan the 15:40 from Towcester will be the biggest race of the day. Apologies to the New One, My Tent Or Yours and Cue Card.
